My Best Friend and V-Day

Valentine's Day is always a fun day. Aaron and I usually don't do anything crazy big. We like to just relax and enjoy each other's company. I think that's a good testament to our relationship. We like nothing better than to just be together. We don't have to be doing anything big or extreme.

This year, I thought it would be cute to do a little "Car Scavenger Hunt." I printed up the cards below for Aaron to follow around the car. The idea was he would end up in the trunk where there would be a blanket, our tablet, and popcorn. I thought it would be fun to watch a movie in our car (in the backseat ;)) on Netflix after we put Blake to sleep. It was a great idea in theory, except that I forgot our garage was completely full of boxes so we've been parking our cars outside. I thought it might be kind of awkward/cold to sit outside the garage in the car so we brought our little date night inside.

My sweet man bought me roses...Blake was convinced they were for him...

Oh, back up a little bit... we actually did some other things earlier in the day before we did our little date night in.

We got up in the morning and took Blake over to a friends to play. Then we had our first walk through of our house with the builder! This walk through was to establish our electrical requirements and such. I never thought it was a big deal where the light switches go, but I have since changed my mind. I am glad we got to choose where to put them! Aaron is pretty good at this kind of stuff, and he told the builder that he wanted a couple things done a certain way, but the builder said it would cost extra...things like wiring for surround sound and internet connections vs. telephone connections, etc. Aaron asked if it would be no charge if Aaron came and did them himself. The builder said that would be find. I'm so glad I married a handy guy! He saved us quite a bit of money while still getting what he wanted.

Here's a picture of Aaron walking through what will be Blake's room. It's so interesting to see a house as it's built. I don't think most people realize what all goes into building a house. It's fascinating!

We decided to go out for lunch because Aaron doesn't work on Fridays! Also, we thought it would be easier to get into a restaurant during the day instead of trying to fight the V-Day crowd at night. We tried going to "Chuys," but there was a long wait. Before we had Blake we didn't mind waiting in line, but with Blake there is no way we can sit in the waiting area and keep him entertained. I really wanted Mexican though. We picked Blake up and headed to "On the Border." It's not our favorite, but it sounded good at the time.

After lunch, we went home for naps. As you can see, Blake didn't last long!

I made these darling little cheesecakes that look like conversation hearts. They tasted amazing! I should have taken a picture of the spring form pans that I used. They are in the shape of a heart and about the size of my hand. So cute!

Mr. Right Indeed...

Happy Valentine's Day from the Lanoys!
