Friends

No pictures for this post, but just a quick shout out to our awesome friends all over Northwest Arkansas. We have felt so blessed to have so many awesome people around us while we go through this transition from our old house to our new home. We have been kept entertained by lots of play dates at friends houses and parks, which has kept us from being bored at the hotel during the day. We have had invites for dinner so that we didn't have to eat out every meal. We have had lots of company and things to do on the weekends. We've had lots of people offer their homes to us while we are in between homes. So thank you to all of you... you know who you are!

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day! This holiday has obviously taken on a whole new meaning since Blake was born, but this year in particular I felt a special meaning for the word mother. Blake and I have been through a lot of learning curves, ups and downs, and lots of laughs and memories over the last year. I am excited for the future, too. Aaron let me sleep in that morning before church, which was awesome! We were staying with our friends Danielle and Rem because Chris' parents were in town and needed to use the guest room at their house. I'm so glad we have such good friends to take us in last minute! It's been fun for Blake to get to hang out with someone his age all the time too. Like I said before, it's going to be tough on Blake when we move back to our own house! Emily and Chris were blessing Tucker that day, so we skipped our ward to attend their ward in Centerton. To celebrate Mother's Day, we got Andy's ice cream the night before...my favorite! Unfortunately, Aaron had to leave on Mother's Day to fly to Houston for a work conference for the whole week. He said he wanted to wait until he was back to celebrate Mother's Day. I'm excited to see what he has planned!

Here's my boys that morning...these two guys... are the reason motherhood is completely worth it. Every day. Love them to the moon and back!

I will be forever grateful to be this little man's mommy. I am so thankful that my Heavenly Father entrusted him to me and gave me the opportunity to become a better person because of it. All I ever wanted was to be a mom, and I wouldn't change a thing about our life together!

After the blessing, we went back to Emily and Chris' house for a "burger bar." It was delicious. Then I drove Aaron to the airport. Kind of a bummer. I was sad to see him go. Later he texted to say that his flight had been cancelled because the airplane blew a tire before they took off. He had a connecting flight in Dallas to Houston, which he obviously was going to miss. He was with a few team members from work and they decided to fly to Dallas on a later flight and then rent a car and drive five hours to Houston. I felt so bad for him. They didn't fly into Dallas until 1am, and then arrive in Houston around 6am. Poor guy!

Here are the men that stood in the blessing circle. I love baby blessings! And Tucker is such a sweet little guy. I'm excited to be able to hold him whenever I want all week.

Car Show for Children's Miracle Network

Mother's Day Weekend! We started things off with a visit to a car show that a coworker of Aaron's was running. It was a car show benefiting the Children's Miracle Network. I was super impressed with the cars! There were so many different kinds, and a lot of them were very impressive. It was a lot of fun! It was beautiful weather, and it was great to walk around outside for a couple of hours. Blake was a champ. He had a great time too. We will definitely be returning next year! Here are a few pictures of a few of the cars we saw. There were too many to take pictures, but I took a couple of our favorites.

Playing with Cousins

So we are officially at Emily and Chris' house now. It's so nice to be in a house again and be able to do things like cook, play outside, etc. They have a nice big fenced in back yard, which has been great for Blake. He is LOVING having kids around him all the time. It's going to be a hard adjustment for him when we go back to being just the two of us all day. Here are a few pictures of our adventures with Blake's "cousins" so far. I'm not sure how our kids are all related technically, but we call it cousins to make it less confusing!

Can you believe that cute face!?

I'm not sure what he was upset about, but this was way too cute to not photograph.

How can you say no to that face?!

HAIRCUT!

So my hair has been getting pretty ridiculously long... So I decided to cut it! I wanted to keep the length, but do something fun with it, and I definitely wanted bangs. Check it out! I LOVE IT!

Mountain Home and Danny's Birthday

Aaron's cousin, Joseph, lives in Mountain Home, AR about three hours away. He invited us to his son's 2nd birthday party, and we thought it would be a good excuse to get out of town for the weekend! We made a short stop in Eureka Springs on our way. We ate a picnic lunch and enjoyed the sites. Such a fun place! A little weird too... I'm definitely sure we saw a few people that were high. No joke! Of course, we couldn't leave Eureka without a ton of fudge and taffy. It was a short trip because I had to be back for a hair appointment. Stay tuned for my next post about that. It's going to be big! Anyways, it was a short trip, but definitely worth it!

Once we arrived, we helped finish up the party preparations. Blake had a great time playing in a house that is home to all little boys!

The theme of the party was from "Toy Story." It was beyond adorable. I will definitely be using some of Julieta's ideas for future parties. Below is an etch-a-sketch she made. You can take the "party time" sign off and it becomes a fun photo prop.

Can you believe she made this herself?? How fun!

The MOST adorable little Buzz Lightyear photo prop. It looked just like the right thing, and Julieta made it from scratch.

Joseph also rented a bouncy house. It was total fun. I'm pretty sure if I put one of these in our back yard, I would be mom of the year!

For dinner we had pizza from "Pizza Planet" just like the movie How creative!

Happy Birthday Danny!
